Grey Heron

Taken yesterday evening in my local park. The last sunlight was lighting it and so I underexposed to render the background completely black.

Techs:
Nikon D300s
Nikon 200-400mm lens at 280mm
Handheld
F4
1/4000s
ISO 500

Oscar :wavey:

By the way, the image is in portrait format, I just made the background black. :jump:

Agree with Julian re your best image to date, love the reflection and the heron stands out well against that inky black BG.

My only nit is that you have posted this on a black background, which is masking the true composition, I'd re post this on a white background if it were mine.

Excellent work, Oscar :toast:

Great use of dynamic range to isolate the subject. Nicely done.

I agree with Andy about the background, but otherwise superb work.

Nice shot Oscar. I think the bg choice could be a subjective one depending on the photographer.
