Diving Least Tern
by Harry Harris
I have been trying to capture a good image of the few Least Terns at Bolsa Chica. Besides being the smallest tern in North America, they are fast. I thought I would try and capture a few dives which have resulted in a lot of images of just water and sky in the past. I thought I captured some fairly good images of one little guy who would hover in one area near me. If the dive was successful it would carry the catch to its mate nesting on a closed off road about two hundred yards away. When I reviewed my images I was supprised to see this image. It is heavily copped but I think it stood up well.
Cropped to 25% of full frame.
