Close to Cape Town there is a place called Intaka Island which many waders call home. Here I captured a Glossy Ibis as it came in to land. Full frame so nothing to add on the bottom which I would have liked.

Wonderful colors and detail. Excellent the way it is, I don't think you need more at the bottom.

Doesn't get any better. I'd clone out that bug behind the bird which I find a little distracting

Excellent, Neal. I like the landing pose, and the subtle iridescence really comes across in this image.

It's really hard to make this bird look pretty-but you have managed. Nice capture on the iridescence. I like the feet in the forward position. That little big trailing behind is a little added bonus.

Terrific shot of that flying bug Neal, although I have to say the bird is something of a distraction ...... jus' playin' witcha' buddy - LOL ;^)

In all seriousnessness ;^) I applaud your achievement here first and foremost in having been able to capture this image with just enough space between the extremes of the Ibis and the edges of the frame to create a wonderful composition; I fear if I'd had the same opportunity at least something of the subject would have been sliced out of the frame in heat of the moment ;^)

Your timing and exposure has had brought out the very best of the subject's wonderfully coloured plumage, brilliant execution IMO, very well done :^)

A lot to like in this shot - the extended feet and head, positions of the wings, beautiful complementary BG, sharpness of the image, iridescence, and trailing insect. :toast:

Great shot with super action. I love that you were able to capture the great metallic colors and shine of the bird.
