Could this be a Heron?

This capture may not be technical enough for this forum, but he is so cute I had to post him here. It was a quick shot with a Digicam Konica Minolta. Can someone tell me what he is?

Green heron. Nicely captured in the open with a good pose and eye contact.

I see many Great Blue Herons here at Paradise Lake in Ga. but never a Green Heron. Thanks for the ID and comment.

You're lucky that it stood still in the open long enough to get the shot :). Around here they are very flighty.
