Canon EOS REBEL T2i
EF-S55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

1/320
Manual
f/9
ISO 400
Focal length 250 mm
Handheld sitting on a bench
DeLeon Springs State Park, DeLeon Springs, Florida
Raw file processed in Photoshop Elements 9, two BG OOF flower elements cloned out

I think the wasp/hornet on these same flowers is a better image, but I also think this butterfly (?) was really pretty, so I wanted to post this one as well. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Wonderful color, the blurred purple BG really adds a nice colorful element here. Nice sharp detail in the butterfly. Well done.

Barbara: I like your wasp but this is far better IMO. First off, I know how small these little guys are and they can be pretty active. (It is a hairstreak butterfly.) Here too you have a single subject on an isolated perch with a superior BG. On top of that the lighting is superb. Finally your DOF and plane of focus management is excellent. This is actually one of the best hairstreak images I've seen in quite a while. You should be proud of this one.>=))>

Barbara:
This is wonderful. The bright yellow light reflection on the body of this blue BF is great and the bg is marvelous. The only suggestion may be a slightly tighter crop.

The Bg is sweet indeed Barbara. One nit is the yellow of the flower which seems blown out.

Hey Barb, great find, very nice comp, I would crop it tighter and make this great subject stand out more in the frame.

This is a lovely shot of what I believe is a Red-banded Hairstreak. You did a nice job of keeping all of the butterfly in focus.
