This is a Pinyon Pine on the rim of Bryce Canyon after a 4 inch snow fall the first week of May. Great shooting conditions. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

This is super nice, Richard! I love the simplicity here and the layering below that makes it all separated enough to work.

Great image. The snow is a perfect accent to both the layed sandstone and the nicely textured trunk.

Definitely my fave of the series. I could see darkening the edges of the foreground a bit. Outstanding work Richard.

Richard, very nice image. Simple yet beautiful, the snow on the tree makes it for me. Good job.

Richard, your plain and centered composition shows me the tree at its best. The nearly monochromatic character helps me to concentrate on the resistance expressed by the unconventional shape of the trunk and branches. This picture has great impact on me!

Brrr....Looks cold there. Would love to check out Bryce after a fresh snow. The background supporting the tree in the foreground really puts this all together. Excellent!

The trunk against the canyon walls and the tree against the sky is a nice effect, and as noted the snow is a great touch. I think the only wish I might have, obviously unavailable, would be for more snow to cover the foreground dirt.

Beautiful tree portrait! This might also work well in B&W, but sings rather nicely in color. I am very much enjoying your Bryce work.

The tree speaks volumes about determination. A fine image, Richard. The snow and clouds give a sense of foreboding.

I like everything about this, Richard. The unusual shape of the tree, the wonderful three dimensional appearance and the muted colors. Very fine work.

The blanket of cloud really makes the tree stand out, amazing how it can survive out there. Love the twisted knarly trunk.

Gary.

Really fantastic image. A powerful subject in great conditions. The shape and mood are really fine. Is that a sliver of canvas in the bottom right where it was rotated? Minor nit :-)
