This time of year is the best time for the UK Lake District IMHO. Here's a recent image of Wast Water looking torwards Wasdale Head:

Canon 300D, 28MM F2.8 lens @ F8, 1/60th second. ISO 100. 0.9 grey grad. Tripod.

Developed in PFS Raw 1.0 beta with Saturation +2, WB - Shade. Sharpened with Focalblade.

Andy, real nice work. The image looks a bit greenish/yellow. Compostion and subject matter are strong. It doesn't seem like there should be road there.

I love the mood in this shot, the colours, composition, and content are wonderful. I like the road, it leads your eye through the scene and acts as a nice compositional counter balance to the red shrubs on the right side of the photo. The road and the shrubs form a triangle that provides a base for the photo and then points upwards to the rest of the photo. The only thing I find a tad distracting is the blue sky in the upper right corner. I prefer that bit of blue cropped out because the blue contrasts with all the warm colour and it continually pulls my eye up to that corner.

That's lovely. I also like the road. It adds a sense of scale, and it leads your eye through the image. I actually would prefer to have MORE blue sky in this, but since there's only that corner, I might prefer to have that cropped. Nice sense of depth to this, too.

this is a lovely photo, makes me wish i were back over on your side of the pond. I usually do not like roads in photos, but this one works here. I would agree with cropping out the bit of blue to top it off.
