Beautiful Cat

One of the days in the Serengeti we came upon a group of 8 lions at this tree! Four were lounging in the tree, while the others were napping under the tree. As we watched (for an hour +) they moved around and changed positions - some of which looked pretty uncomfortable. There were males and females together, so I'm guessing they were all teenagers, not yet paired up. They had apparently just eaten, because all their bellies looked quite full. This one struck me as the beauty of the group.

What a beautiful portrait Margaret, the lazy pose with the arm outstretched are marvelous, but that look you're getting absolutely magnificent. Great capture, very well done :^)

Oh, and I love the cubs on your site too :^)

Margaret, A wonderful face-on stare, and the arm resting on the branch make this a powerful scene. I am impressed with the fantastic techs in this image as well.

Thank you for your comments. It was a thrilling privilege to watch these 8 lions in the tree. Quite an experience.

I love this Margaret! great eye contact and pose. There seems to be a very very slight green colour cast on the lion that I would be tempted to correct, but that's a small nit on a great shot!!

HI Margaret,

The larger version of this image really shines as the detail you've captured is far more evident on that version of the shot. I like the overall composition and find the paw grabbing onto that snag quite compelling. The bright, nearly featureless sky doesn't help the image too much (in my opinion) - if this were mine I'd experiment with selectively reducing the brightness there (and in doing so attempt to pull a little more detail out of the clouds, tho' I can't say there's any there to work with).

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...
