This small lake is just about a few minutes from our home. I have visited this place so many times. There are almost no iconic places to photograph in my area so I'm always looking for some interesting and beautiful locations in the swiss middle land to photograph. But it's a pretty tough job since it's a very populated area. Cities and villages are so close together that it's really hard to come up with a decent composition with no disturbing elements in it.

Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 16-35mm @16mm

Thanks for any comments and thoughts.

Love the tranquil mood your image evokes Bill. The pastel colors in the sky and smoke rising off the water are gorgeous. The dock is a good lead in and adds some anticipation of the beautiful view that lies ahead.

Makes me want to walk right out and drink in the view. Very nice image with the mist rising off the water and pastel sky

I like the mix of warm and cooler colors and the mist superimposed on the reflection.

You did fine with this one. I'm a big fan of local and beautiful, not necessarily iconic. The dock and its surrounding vegetation is a great lead in and the pastel clouds and mist rising speak of a lovely peaceful morning watching the sun rise and listening to the birds call.

I feel your pain regarding proper landscape destinations in densly populated regions. central europe is great for street photography and architecture, not necessarily bad for nature and landscape, but one needs to search harder for the right spots. And it was really successful here. The composition works very well, and you captured some really appealing conditions. Good work!

Bill, this simple composition works very well for me and tells me a lot about beautiful and tranquil moments at the lake. I especially appreciate the fresh greens in the foreground. Excellent processing too in my opinion.
