Beautiful Carnivor

This is a variety of an American pitcher plant. Like the Venus fly trap it is a predator. Taken in a conservatory where they had many varieties of pitcher plants. Shot through glass using Canon 40D, using 100-400 IS lens. Much PS work to get effects of the glass to go away.

Comments always welcomed.

Never seen one like this before. Looks like a wind swept flower. Killer background to go with it. Lovely photo, Patricia

Looks like a plant in a wind tunnel. Excellent PP with great color on the petals and love the bg. :toast:

A perfect capture of the flower textures on a delightful bg, Patricia. Caught in a dynamic pose which I like a lot.

I echo Gary's comment about this bloom being stuck in a wind tunnel. Very funky.

A beautiful murderer. Insects must be happy to die in its embrace.
Thanks Patricia for sharing so many beautiful images and interesting specimens.
Take care.
