An Early Morning Snack

I captured this beauty early this morning at Patuxent Research Refuge Center.

I was using Canon EOS Rebel T3i with my Tamron 200-500mm lens

Exposure Time 1/500
Focal Length 500
f Stop 6.3

I was playing around with the Sport setting and discovered that I could set it to Vivid. This photo was shot on sport, set to a low vivid setting, and I had maxed it out on focal length.

I look forward to hearing comments and ideas.

Like the action. situation, but wish I the deer's head was less obscured by the branches. Assuming you had time, a lower angle may have helped.

Hi DK,

A little hard to assess this image at this size (and even the larger image is a tad small to really show the image off). The layers are nice and the scene is quite tranquil. Nicely seen!

Cheers...

Brad

PS: Please don't hesitate to jump in and comment on the images of others - I know the recommended ratio of 5 comments for every image post can be tough to maintain, but getting a little closer to this comment:image ratio would be appreciated. I know many newer members are a little hesitant to leave comments, but ultimately the success of all the galleries are determined largely by the comments members leave on the images that are posted. And, I'm sure you'll find that once you get into the regular practice of creating your own critiques that you'll think more about, and improve, your own photography.

If you're unsure or uneasy about commenting/"critiquing" there are several good resources on this website discussing it. Start right here:

http://www.naturephotographers.net/postguide-2.html

This page discusses the critiquing process and provides links to a number of articles on critiquing ("The Art of Image Critique" and "More Thoughts on Photo Critique.").

Interesting shot. Sure shows a strong browse line and the reason behind it.
