1. Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads out there
2. I am humbled with the WP selection. there is great talent in this gallery. Thank you.
3. I got out a little late today, and missed the soft light, but, I got out.

Bob,

I might like a slightly less centered composition and possibly a touch of selective darkening/contrast on the pads and water only. It might make them seem a bit richer and better balanced against the bloom - just subjective though. Good management of the whites and yellows and a good exposure in what appears to be fairly strong direct light. The dark rims of the pads add interest for me.

Hi Bob, I really like the strong diagonal (implied) created by the pads. You shot at f/18 and I wonder what you might have accomplished shooting with a wider aperture.

The longer I look at this image, the more I like the diagonal lines.

Nice job, and yeah tough to get out at the crack of dawn.

Cheers,

Carol

Bob: Wonderful subject and a solid exposure. Besides Pat's suggestions I would be tempted to crop about 40-50% of the water on the top. That gets the flower out of the exact center of the frame and IMO gives it more emphasis. >=))>

Good looking water lily Bob. If you got out earlier it might not have been open. Great job on the whites. Also like those water drops on the petal.

Bob, The pond has some fish I guess. I can see some. For me the centralization seems to work but I am sure there are many compositional choice available. I like the exposure on the whites and framing using the pads

Bob:
The main thing is that you got out. Sometimes I give myself excuses about the harsh light but when I really get out, I really enjoy the outdoor and sometimes the lighting is not such a bother is you have a diffuser or polarizer. I lost my polarizer recently and am yet to go get another one. :frown:

I like the lily here surrounded by the leaves and the darkish water. The only minor nits here is the strong water reflection at the rim of two lily pads. Otherwise a solid image.
