This is an image from past spring. I took it end of April in the swiss Jura at Lac de la gruére. It's a small lake in the french speaking part of western switzerland.

Nikon D700, AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm @ 200mm
1/50 sec, f8, iso 200, polarizer

Thanks for any comments and thoughts.

What a lovely peaceful scene. The clean reflections of the tree trunks are very attractive.

Bill,

Very nice I like reflections, sometimes just the reflection, sometimes the subject and it's copy. The bright white trunks with the green and yellow foliage is really pleasing.

This is a nice shot! Very crisp and detailed. Those ripples make the reflections look awesome. They would make a nice abstract pano on thier own!

Hi Bill - I love images like this and this is no exception. I especially love the reflection - there are some beautiful patterns in that part of the image. I like the dark shadows but might want to see just a bit more detail. Otherwise, beautiful!

Love the light on the trees and the lines in the water. I think the 50-50 split isn't as strong as a more pano-style crop with a trim off the bottom of the frame.

I like the comp with slightly higher-than-center horizon and the reflection really makes it. The ripples in the water are just perfect.

i very much like this and the colours here. i would chop the trees in half at the top - it's really the reflection that makes this.

Bill, this reflection is amazingly beautiful to me. The ripples of the surface work extremely well for me, as well as the delicate colors. Your show me a wonderful serenity.

I think of giving more space to the reflection, maybe about 2/3 of the vertical, as this is the main point of interest for me. Just a thought. I enjoy exploring your image as it is.

Bill,

I like what you've seen and captured here. I like that you were able to take a subject in direct (often maligned, "bad light") and used the reflection and graphics of this to make a very pleasing image. I also think the exposure, contrast, color, saturation and all that technical stuff is beautifully presented. I like this very much.

Bill, This is beautiful, and that reflection is awesome! Such a nice feel to this too. Sorry I didn't comment on it earlier. Not sure how I missed it, but very glad I caught it now. Excellent work!

I am afraid I am too late. This is a very beautiful image - very elegant and classy. The white trunks, particular the reflections look excellent. As much as I like the whole scene, the lower part looks even better. I do not suggest a crop because I think it would not work alone with a pano-aspect ratio, but knowing me I would have tried focussing on the reflection to make some abstract images. Really good stuff man!!
