Why? Because he is Singin' in the Rain of course. The best shot from an expedition with Maggie Campbell to photograph water voles in Derbyshire. We didn't manage many water voles, but at least Maggie found a convenient bridge to shelter under during the many showers that day.

I would appreciate feedback on the size of the bird in the frame. The large version covers virually the entire original frame, whilst the main image is edited. I prefer the larger one because you get a better feel of the rain, but I am open to other opinions.

Thanks for looking.

Hi David,

Lovely image with loads of detail and atmosphere. I Like the size of the bird in the frame but the OOF branch in the front does take away some of the attention wich should be on the bird.

greetings,

Hello David,
I'm in favour of the composition of the large image. The extra space to the right adds to the scene and, as you have mentioned, the rain is emphasised more which makes it more atmospheric. A really nice image.

One of the best titles I've seen  and not a bad image either!
Best wishes

Thanks Phil, but I have to admit that I got the idea for the title from something that Tony Flashman posted on Facebook.

Nice perspective, good pose, and the rain streaks are great!
Nice work!

I like it very much David, but definitely prefer the large version. You are much more aware of the rain and it just seems more detailed. Still - a super composition - and a great title. :toast:

another vote for the large one from me David. A nice shot and, as others have said, the rain really adds to the atmosphere.

The full frame version is brilliant - stay away from that crop tool
The framing from the foliage, the falling rain, the singing bird...it's got it all :toast: And it's one of my top five birds! Top, top shot.

Lovely natural image. Its te type that people can see daily if they look hard, but are very hard to capture on camera. Kudos
