Canon 1D Mk iv, 100mm f2 macro, 1/60s, f8, iso 400 Hand-held (wrong plate for tripod!!)

I'm just dipping my toe in the water of macro stuff and I can certainly see the appeal. Lot to learn though, not least the ID of all the fascinating creatures that I've never really noticed before.

a nice looking moth Ian, it looks newly emerged as its wings haven't yet straightened. If you'd have waited a while it may have looked even smarter  It stands out nicely against the green background.

Congrats on entering the macro world. . . you'll do just fine I'm sure. A nice image with cool colors. I assume this one just left its cocoon - did you get more in the series?

We've all done "wrong plate for tripod" (well, I have anyway), but you've got an interesting result here. It would make a great series if you have the rest of the story.
