Another blurred and dark image.

Early morning before sunrise in Ishasha, Uganda I found this young yellow-billed stork in a pond. It was feeding on its own.

I wanted to include the mystical atmosphere of the dark pond it was feeding in, and used a slow shutter speed.

500 mm + 1.4 ext. from a safari car.

Exactly.

What were your shooting parameters? I would much prefer a noisy image than something is blurred and underexposed - this is the sort of situation where compromising on a high ISO makes sense. Taking off the 1.4x would also have given you another stop of light to work with.

Interesting image, Jeffry. Rather more "artsy" than we usually see on this forum, but very successful at evoking the mood you intended.

I sort of like the darkness of this, and the mood created by it, but the blurriness in the bird is not a plus for me.

Jeffry, I think I see what you were trying to do, but I have to agree with Richard.
