These small ridges, only inches tall - a prelude of bigger things of what they will become eventually? -- Great Sand Dunes Natl Park

The streaks in the sky are sand blowing as the wind was screaming!

Highly suitable for B/W. Nice range of tonality, really helpedby the texture of the sand.

I might crop just a tad at the top and bring down the bright area at left side of the sky a bit but other than that a nicely executed b&w.

Wonderful layers and light and the clouds are a really nice focal point.

Hi Mitch - It looks like you had a quite successful trip to the sand dunes. The leading lines are excellent, plus I like the repeating curves and the lonely little clouds. I also like the darker processing, as I think it helps add a lot of mood to this image. Beautiful work!

nice b&w - works well for me. not sure if the blotchiness in the sky is a result of processing or clouds?

Mitch,

I like this. It evokes a sense of mystery and awe. I'd favor a slight crop off the top of the sky. Your processing is money. Awesome conversion.

Excellent! I like this a lot. Great detail in the sand leading to a greatly framed clouds. Real sweet.

Mitch,

Can you say texture??? Wow, if the rest of the image wasn't so normal, I'd say the sand was grossly over sharpened. But wow, this really has some texture in the sand and I think you've done very well with the b&w presentation which I think really enhances, the... did I say texture yet? The only suggestion I have would be to play around with the sky and maybe go for more of a high contast, darker blue look? Not so much to steal the show from the dunes, ripples and texture, but perhaps to introduce a little more visual drama? I'm just thinking out loud here. I think this is very well captured. A perfect set of little clouds too.
