Just got back from alaska ! Could only squeeze in a day and a half of wildlife viewing but that turned out to be more than enough for an year's supply of cute bear images

Here is a smiling cub amidst sedge and sitka spruce

Awesome image! I really like your comp, it looks like there is also some great detail.

That is one beautiful Grizzly, I love her blonde colour with the darker legs. The background looks so cool because of that fog, it really adds a nice effect.

I love this photo! Strength comes from the strong, simple compositional elements and the balance with the bear on the left side leaning into the frame, very clever. You used the fog to great effect as well. A day and a half and you came away with a photo like this, impressive!!! No nits from me.

Really nice shot Anand! Great subject, not to mention color, comp and bg. My only suggestion would be a bit of counter-clockwise rotation to even out the horizon... Well done!

What a wonderful setting. It helps that the bear has lighter fur and stands out nicely against the green and the mist.

I would considering cropping a tiny bit off the bottom to get the subject away from the vertical center. Since the eye is drawn up and to the right, there's a bit too much empty space below the bear for my tastes.

Wow!. What a cute image. I can almost feel the fluffy fur. There bear is nicely offset against the green grass. Well done Anand.

Love this composition Anand, and what a delightful cub! Short as the experience was, you must have had a wonderful time by the sounds of it :^)

The conditions really helped you here Anand...the foreground pops from the foggy background. I love the pose and the soft light with the vibrant greens contrasted with the bear's coat. The layering also rocks.

Just a question - have you looked at rotating it slightly CCW? I can see the bear is probably level, it's just that the various layers behind it really carry the "horizon" for me and I would like to compare this with one that is slightly rotated for "induced perspective"?

Hi Anand,

Love how the very blond bear stands out from the surroundings - and the misty background is nice. I'm in agreement that a slight CCW rotation and sliver off the bottom could strengthen this already very good image.

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

Nicely done Anand! I agree that the light blond of the bear cub against the foggy background make this shot stand out.

Oh my word, Anand...this is a killer shot. The subject, the mood and light, the composition...everything adds up to a wall-hanger in my books! Great techs and processing, too! I was going to suggest a slight rotation as others have but it does look like the trees are very close to vertical, so it's a tough one. Sometimes you can split the difference and make it work and sometimes doing so just makes it seem like something's wrong. In any event, this is a beauty.
