Taken off an Ecktachrome slide done in 1972. Photographed with D200 and home made slide copier ( much quicker than scanning !!)
This was a young one curled up in my left hand. Camera in right. I remember it was a pentax Spotmatic. People will fall out of their Zimmer frames reading this !!
Cheers

Wonderful composition John! Before I read what you wrote I imagined you lying on the ground lining this one up, and now I'm LOL seeing you had this one much more in hand ;^)

The exorbitant cost in time and money prohibited me from getting into wildlife photography back in the days of film, but I greatly appreciate works like this from those that had the time, patience, resources, and ability to capture so many images of creatures I'd likely never have seen in my youth. Thanks for sharing :^)

A very intimate portrait. Guess these guys aren't as large as I always imagined them to be. Nice capture

Hey John,

Well, I had a Pentax Spotmatic...but no Zimmer Frame for me yet...and I did get quite a kick out of how you produced this image! Pretty darned good detail for a hand-held shot (with one hand to boot) and then copied using a home-made slide copier! Love the almost "armoured" nose pad and the "circle within a circle" composition works for me.

Thanks for sharing this one - definitely brought a smile to my face...

Some names from the past there - but still a great picture. I take it that it was ordinary (64 asa) Ektachrome? It doesn't look grainy enough for the "high speed" (160 asa) version.
