It's So Fluffy!

Trippy clouds on the backside of a massive thunderhead. I suppose this is pretty common in the lower plains and bread basket states, but it's fairly rare here in Wyoming.

Taken hand held at 1/30th of a second, iso 1600, f2.8 at 35mm with a 5dm2.

I have about 50 shots of varying comps from this event, but this is one of my favorites.

Any thoughts or advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like something you would find in Stan Rose's portfolio, which I think should be regarded as a very nice compliment.

Great clouds. The color looks nice. This looks a little soft, Nick.

Here's a Wikipedia article about mammatus clouds.

Hi Nicolaus,
Terrific mammatus shot, I like the colors and the softness in the shot, it's great for clouds!

Thanks for the tips and comments.

Preston, I think you are right...after looking at this more, it does seem a bit softer than I first realized. I might have to go back and look for a better shot. Thank you for catching that.

Stan, guess I should have said central Wyoming. ;]
