The Montreal flows into Lake Superior at the south shore of Michigan's upper peninsula. Imaged with a Hasselblad CM and normal lens at f 16 on 100 ISO Provia film.

I really like this composition, I feel that it is very well balanced and has a lot of interest in each of the composing elements- the foreground rocks, the waves in the water, the trees and beach on the far shore, the soft clouds in the sky. The processing seems pretty on point, however it does seem a bit soft, which is most noticeable in the foreground rocks- not sure if this is the focus, camera shake, the film scan, or the JPEG compression- but I think this scene could most benefit from being photographed at a time of day with more favorable light. Depending on how the location is situated, I think it would be worth your while to revisit this spot at sunrise or sunset and see if you could get some nice colorful light and bring out the textures of the rocks, water and trees more. I could also see dramatic light during a storm making this scene shine. A different light scenario could also allow you to use longer shutter speeds to do some interesting things with the waves and ripples in the water. I think you've found a very nice scene, picked out a great composition, and done about as well as you could given the light conditions you shot in. I'd love to see you revisit this spot and get some great light to maximize its potential!

Ahhh - Provia..... This image has a nice kind of raw art feel to it, something you might see in a gallery somewhere. The only thing that does catch my eye, and once seen I keep noticing is the cut vegetation in the LRC.
