This one might be more suited for the Macro Gallery but Flora gets so much traffic and after all, critiques are the goal...

I found this moss growing on a concrete bridge earlier this spring. The patterns and details were facsinating so I spent a little time dodging traffic and managed to get a few shots that are a little different, for me anyway. A fair amount of detail in the dark areas was lost when resizing and was unable to get it back.

Strong composition for my tastes Bruce and I like both the color and the detail presented here. I think what also interests me is the alternating V shapes between the subject and the ground. An interesting subject and a very fine capture and presentation.

The dark areas contrast well with the lighter ones for me, so I don't notice any missing detail there. I like the subtle variation in colours that mean there is something of interest in each part of the frame.

Fascinatingly beautiful image, Bruce ! Love the pattern and don't mind the deepest darks - I think the stripy plants benefit from the really high contrast effect. Well spotted !!
