Calla
by Ramamohan Pai
My first ever photo of a Calla - our first Calla (only one out of 4 bulbs sprouted) to bloom as well. I can now understand what a difficult flower it can be to photograph and all the compositions I got to see begin to make sense.
This is pretty much a portrait - the yellows in the background come from stone purge like small plants in bloom.
ND200, AFS 105mm F/2.8 VR Micronikkor, F/8, 1/20 Sec, Late evening light, ISO200 and Tripod. I might have used an extension tube but don't remember.
Was away in Hongkong last week and got to meet up with the Master Gary Yeoh. Will comment on other photos as time permits.

Another beauty- lovely lines and detail, great perspective, and gorgeous BG.

Great to meet up with the Master of SOA!
Nice to see your calla in bloom and you having to get out your camera as soon as you got home.
The texture is fabulous and the bg really sweet. Love this a lot.
