I am very sorry for my absence lately. I blame life.

I shot a few of these yesterday at Red Rock Lake here in Colorado. They are such diminutive beauties.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Morris: Flag on the play for delay of posting. Penalty is to send your favorite Mod the RAW file and Pat's not eligible. Wonderful find and I like the BG bokeh. Not sure I've ever seen one of these in the wild so this is a treat. The unopened bud is a major plus element for me. Marvelous shot. >=))>

Doesn't get any better than this Morris. Your dof decision created a perfect complement to the flower here. I like the flares as well. One of your best for my tastes and that's saying something. I'll echo Bill's "marvelous shot."

Beautiful, Morris  - I like those OOF highlights in the background in addition to all that has been already mentioned. Great plane of focus management for the bloom and bud.

This is nice. I've been trying to get a decent image of one of these all spring without much luck. You've done a beautiful job capturing the colors and essence.

Just beautifully caught, Morris !! The circular highlights in the bg do make a fascinating complement - they seem to add a mood of gaiety to the image. Nice to see you back - life can be a problem !!

Morris:
Your absence is noted and the rest must have been good for you as evidenced by this terrific post. Like the antics of the bloom and bud. Very nice bg.

Beautiful flower Morris! You captured some wonderful detail and color in this. The background helps accentuate the uniqueness of the flower as well. Really nice.

Lovely composition with the arch of the stem and the unopened bloom. The BG and highlights add a nice mood to this!

Beautiful pfoto of a beautiful flower, Morris. I like the translucent petals. The flare create mood and mistery.
Take care.

Very pretty portrait Morris. I think that I could see this darkened just a bit, but I really like what you have working here. Glad to see a post from you!

Hi morris :wavey: This is splendid work   The BG with the flares and serene soft color almost stole the show. but the flower is the star of the production :toast: :toast:
