Continuing working with various bracketing and blending experiments. This image of the northern Spanish coast on a cloudy sunrise, is a blend of 4 images. 8,15,30 & 180s.
Hand blended in CS5 using channel masks.

It looks perfect, Alister. I really like all the textures in the rocks and the overall balance of light in the scene. Wonderful dual focus points to to keep the eye moving in the scene.

Excellent work! The composition is very good and the blend looks superb. Perhaps there is the slightest halo around the pillar in the background, but nothing objectionable from my point of view.

Nice work Alister.
Funny how the one rock possess so much algae. Great cloud movement as well.

Beautiful scene at sunrise. The moss covered rock is really cool. Great mood captured too. Nice work Alister!

Gorgeous light and color Alister. The blend looks great. Composition wise, I like how the flat rocks act as "stepping stones" to the distant monolith. I am also enjoying the glowing, detail-muted reflection off the water.

Very nice image. I like everything about it. Processed very well.
I'd be tempted to crop the upper left corner down very slightly for centering balance and maybe take sharpening (not edge) a tad further.
Still wonderful as is.

I think your bracketing and blending experiments are coming along nicely. Beautiful image and great job on the processing.

Wonderful the way my eye enjoys that moss in the foreground, then the spire, then the beautiful light on the clouds. I'm picking up the above mentioned halo on my monitor too, but that's my only nit on a wonderful image.

It's really cool how you composed this one, Alister, as my eyes go from right to left in a zigzag sort of motion all the way up in the skies. The color and the contrast are spot on. One very minor nit regarding blending is that I detect a very slight halo around the background sea stack. I'm just being super nit picky on a great image.

Thanks all... I have realised the dangers of blurring the channel masks for creating halos, and have sussed that out now... Thanks for all the great feedback...

Yep, blurring the masks is a no no for the contours...me too I learnt the lesson! :)
Incredible image...you must have been with someone special around!! I see you managed to get rid of the horrible color casts given by the 10 stops ND...good job! ;-)

A beautiful image, Alister. The blend looks very good to me. Love the warm reflected sky in the fg water helping the green moss really pop. My feeling would be to crop the bright sky at the top, which tends to pull my eye away from the scene.

Fantastic. Gorgous light and that mossy rock really pops! Since you're experimenting with blends, I can't help but wonder what it would look like with a faster SS for the clouds. I like the affect of the long exposure on the water, but not as much on the sky. That's personal of course, and I really like it as is. Just throwing another idea out there.
