This is from the same trip as the last one. We hiked on the highest peak in Retezat National Park, Peleaga. After scouting the area a bit, I saw this place, right beside the ridge. As the sun was setting, there were plenty of breaks in the clouds to work with, so I got various compositions of this scene, but settled on this simpler and I hope, more effective approach. I feel this image captures the wild spirit of the place better than any of the images I made in the area. Standing there, on the edge, waiting for the light to change, was a fantastic experience.

450d, Tokina 12-24, f10, blend of three exposures that was quite challenging.

Dorin, I can't help but think how nice the images are that I have been seeing here. Pretty amazing stuff!...and this one is wonderful. Another amazing moment in time that we can now take time to enjoy. Fantastic feel and mood. Excellent work.

Dorin, this has great mood to it and compositionally is really terrific! The ridge and the rock jutting out in the foreground have a
3-D quality to them so the sharpening is spot on too! Great image! :toast:

Magnificient conception, by you, to bring out the mystic feel of this scene. I feel very fortunate to be able to witness scenes like this without actually climbing there.

I think your comp is fantastic. Simple, but powerful in expressing the mood of the scene. Well done Dorin!

This works perfect. What tremendous light! If this is indeed a "simpler" approach, I would say that was wise. Images being more immediately palpable I believe make a bigger impact on the market and sell better. :toast:

No nits.

Your processing is stellar as usual Dorin. The fog really adds depth to the image and accentuates the colors of the light. Your composition is thoughtful and well conceived. One small personal nit for me is the sun being centrally located near the top of the picture. I'm not sure there was anything you could have done about that, I find that it detracts slightly from the aesthetics, at least for me. Excellent work all around though!

That is incredible light, Dorin, and incredibly well managed. In addition to the light, I like the framing of the bottom ridge of and focal point of both the sun and the center rock. Very nice.

Great! This image really grabs my attention with the angles of the ridge and foreground rock, sunlight filtering through the clouds, and the mystery created by the clouds over the distant ridges.

The processing and mood are fantastic. The central sun might be a little off center in a perfect world, but since it is above the ridge peak, one might say it adds some nice symmetry to the shot. Nicely done!

Awesome, Dorin! The scenic has a sense of mystery about it I like the way that
you've composed this incorporating diagonal lines. You have clarity and good
detail in the FG rocks and moodiness in the soft BG. Of course, the lighting is
lovely as well.
