Post prompted by my pal Phil:wink:

Gradually getting my chair hide closer to the tree but this is still a half crop. The low res image looks a bit fuzzy for some reason (probably the Sancerre)so check out the high res version.

Canon Mk4 500f4 @ 1/160 ISO 200 f11 no prcessing at all as when it is light I am shooting and when it is dark I am sleeping:wink:

Bee working these myself for the past month and it can be so hard to get that expression right. They all too often have one eye in the dark so to speak. Nice the way the eye to the light always has the smaller pupil too !
Good one though.
Don't start them on mealworms though it will cost a bomb !
Cheers

The lighting on the tree really echos the camouflage patterning on the owl. Nice one.

Nice shot as presented but could you not have shot a composition without the need to crop? That gnarly tree looks great and it's a shame you've felt the need to crop it away. :frown:

Hi Simon. yes I agree with you but just to the left of the edge of the tree is a very bright patch of white cloud. However I will have a look at a portrait crop later and try to include more of the gnarly tree. I actually found a third Lowl family last night that that tollerate my 4x4 and I will be spending my free time with for the next week or so.
