The last shot of the evening in shade in front of sunlight on a red brick barn wall in the farm area where these are nesting.
Not sure about that strong evening colour as a backdrop but we,ll see.
D7000 Sigma 100-300 mm
ISO640 80th sec@f8
Crop off horizontal which I nearly always shoot in as you can get a landscape off horizontal but not off a vertical ( If you see what I mean  )
levels Paint Shop Pro.

All, including BG is very much to my liking John. This owl is looking at you like you were a rident.

A really nice shot. I particularly like the eye contact and backgound.

Judging by the look he's giving you in this shot I'd say he's about ready to snatch that camera off you!
Nice shot :toast: Good to see both the eyes the same colour - I always struggle with these.

Hi John - a defiant stare if ever I saw one and an unusual BG (which I like BTW).

How much sharpening did you apply ? :wavey:

Thanks all.
Graham- I.m still or was , playing with the new camera and the the default camera sharpening is 1 bar down from the centre. I had it on the middle -thinking that was normal. So- the only sharpening was when re sizing for this site which I always do. It does look a bit over.
Cheers
