A seed pod from a shrub I believe is named "Broom" which has beautiful yellow flowers followed by these seed pods. This one had only two internal seeds and with the backlight it reminded me of eyes watching me.

Love the back lighting Charlie and the light detailing the cilia. I like the image exactly as posted but might also be tempted to rotate it 90 degrees CCW.

I like your sense of humor, Charlie! Great eye to see this. I like the backlighting and how it shows off the seeds inside and the hair along the edges.

Neat image Charlie and nice backlighting. Would this be broom sage? If so, those pods will explode when its time to release the seeds.

I like the image because it took some imagination to see it. Nicely photographed.

Thanks all for comments. Pat I've been scratching my head about your thought of ccw rotation. What did you have in mind. Would that not ruin the feeling about this being eyes?

This may be and probably is Broom Sage. I had never heard it called that, but a Scotish lady I was internet friends with a few years ago said she has a hill side full of this plant and she can hear it popping when the seeds are "ripe". This is far from our house and I've never seen or heard them explode. Something I can look forward to.

The rotation would affect the sense of eyes. It would be an alternative image and not an improvement. If you wanted to make the image into something a little more formal, I think the rotation would make this look like a modern sculpture and the greenery becomes a nice base for it. Again, not an improvement - just a different approach and mood.

Very well seen, Charlie. Sure do look like some Alien Eyes. The backlighting also highlights the fine hairs on the pod.
