Bluestem Pricklypoppy

Here is the full flower of the Bluestem. The first image is my favorite, but I also like this one. The problem I had getting any of these images is wind. There is almost always a wind of some kind blowing and these have tall stems and delicate flowers that are very susceptible to the wind. This one happened to be close to the parking area so I could get my truck between it and the wind. Thanks for your comments.

Incredible detail Richard, and the petals appear as parchment. I do like my poppies sunnyside up.

It doesn't seem the wind hurt you here at all. Great techs and super detail. I like both of them! Only suggestion would be to possibly darken the BG and also knock out the high lights in the upper BG.

Good thing the stems are long. Any closer and you'll get stabbed! I love the whites of this magnificent bloom. Good on you for the detail captured and the processing. Most excellent.

Richard,

Superb whites and detail. My only suggestion echoes Peter's with regard to the bg and the highlights. It's a toss up for me as to which of these I most prefer but I think it's this one. Very fine image.

Flower itself is tastefully rendered with top class exposure  - not particularly bothered about the small quibbles on the background.

Richard: Fine image, especially the whites. I hear you on the wind when shooting these and think you did great. Nicely done.>=)).

Exquisite, Richard ! These are poppy petals as poppy petals only can be - all the textures have come out to perfection. Spot on dof and placement in the frame.

beautifully captured. I like the dof to include the un-opened buds, the pristine whites and the wonderful detail.
