Portland Head Lighthouse

Last month I travelled to Maine and flew into the Portland airport so that I could photograph this lighthouse. I wanted to shoot the lighthouse at sunset, but that was a bust. The light and clouds before sunset turned out to be much nicer.

Critiques and comments are very welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Beautiful daylight shot, Carol. The comp is good, the whites are under control, and the dynamic range is excellent. I would love to see a b/w rendition of this!
If this were mine, I would crop out most of the shadow on the rock face in the LRHC, but fine as is! :toast:

Beautiful capture, Carol. The clouds have a wonderful texture that add depth and takes me all the way through the image.

That is a beautiful scene Carol, just wondering if there was any more room at the bottom, or if there were some "non-photogenic" items/structures--minor, I love it just fine.

The clouds in this image really add depth and the whites are handled very well.

Well composed and technically well executed. You really took good advantage of a complimentary sky. Nicely done.

I have never been to this light but looks like a great place and just up or down the road from me depending if I am in NH or our place in ME. The clouds do add depth as Walter mentioned. Only suggestion I have may be to bring up the shadows a tiny bit in the bottom right. A great sunset would have been nice, but this works well.
