Abstract in yellow
by Albert Darmo
This abstract was taken from a David Austin rose called Graham Thomas. I liked the yellow tones but found it difficult to get defined lines. Taken in my garden with a Nikon 50mm F/1.8, with 56mm ext tube, cable release, comments appreciated.

The yellow wash is really nice and the white seems to be floating in this yellow cloud. As you have commented, I wish you had a nice straight line in the central one but getting the sensor parallel at this mag is a real challenge. I would also brighten up the RLC some to even out the light. A very fine abstract overall.
Great going

I agree to lighten the lower right a bit.
Nice work!

I like it just as presented. I think I understand the other comments about making the brightness more uniform for an abstract, but that bit of realism with shadows works fine for me. (Guess I'm more of a naturalist than an artist. As a matter of fact, I never claim to be an artist -- just an illustrator, but I sure like looking at beauty like this.)

Very well done

Take care.
I like it the way it is with the LRC being darker & a nice gradient flow of brightness from LRC to ULC
