The Widow Skimmer (Libellula luctuosa) is one of the group of dragonflies known as King Skimmers. Adults have a steely blue body area, but juveniles are yellow with brown stripes (as seen here).
F/18, 1/250th, ISO 500, 1D M3, 300mm f/2.8 + Kenko 2x ext with natural morning light around 11:00. No flash. Image cropped to 6 MB.

Wow, great point-of-view, Howard, and nice detail -- love the eyes. I like the way this low angle shows how it holds its legs.
In addition to the light colors on the abdomen, this male will also develop broad white bands on the wings, just outside of the dark saddlebags.

Breathtaking! I'm surprised to learn that his colors will change so much as he becomes an adult. Incredible! Thanks for the interesting information. This shot is nothing short of spectacular. The details arare gorgeous, and the point of view adds so much to the image. Well done, Howard!
