A large flotilla of pollen on Crater Lake early last week. For reference, the large accumulation just left of center is over 100 feet across.

All comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated. This image really suffers from compression, so please view large.

Interesting abstract and comp. The water looks a bit over saturated or is this the natural color of the water.

Nice comp. The blues seem over-saturated and not believable. I know Crater lake is blue - but never seen it THIS blue..
You've lost a lot of the detrail in the pollen - if you'd share your camera settings, we could offer suggestions.
Good eye to see this!

Thank you all for the comments.

Crater Lake is indeed quite blue, but as Sandy noticed, I might have over-saturated it a bit. Thanks for noticing.

The techs are as follows:
Canon 5D MKII
EF 100-300 f/4.5-5.6 at 300mm
f/22
ISO 100

I still can't wrap my mind around this. That means the width of the frame is that of a football field. Even the larger version gives no hint of the size of this. Just curious if this is a telephoto image

This could be a macro for all I know without the explanation. Terrific abstract, the patterns and vivd colours are really cool.

Neat abstract. They say lake Tahoe is the bluest of lakes, but Crater lake might have it beat.

Fascinating! I love how the yellows stick out against the blues. The scale is just awesome too, I wish you had a way to show the scale in the photograph.. like a kayaker!
