From Ft DeSoto last February. These ibis are almost totally fearless of photographers. Sometimes they would just walk right past me as close as 8 feet away. Larger image included.

Olympue E-3 ZD300 F2.8 Wimberley I, ISO 200 1/8000 f2.8 -0.7EV, slight rotational correction

Cracking shot Bill and great white control. Great DOF at 2.8 too !
Slightly big in frame for me but not the end of the world.
Cheers

Love the colors, the blue water and blue eye and the pink legs and bill, beautiful shot.

Nice pose and detail - and great eye. I love these guys!
The water seems over-saturated and un-natural - you might bring it down a bit and see what you think.

Excellent, Bill. Perfect exposure, a nice pose and the ripple ring adds a great finishing touch.

Simple and clean with good sharpness and detail. I'd prefer more DOF for the tail and would have traded off some of the extra shutter speed for a small aperture.

Wonderful pose and look from this ibis, the head area looks sharp but the rear of the bird not as much so Rich D has a good point, otherwise I really like the composition and that you can see the feet under the water, way to go.

I think it's beautiful. Excellent detail. The saturation is probably right-we have a lot of these and that eye is just the perfect color and the water of Ft. DeSoto can be very intense. Agree though a little more DOF would have had him sharp from stem to stern.
