Mono Lake in Green

This is probably the last shot from my "pre-retirement" phase of life - you know when you have to take what you can get between other schedule demands. Was on a trip to LA, the wind was howling and Mono Lake was this weird shade of green. Didn't have the time to do much, but couldn't let it pass either. Well, I'm retired now - and back posting again. Looking forward to having more time to take better advantage of moments like this. C&C's always welcome.

Russ,

I have been to Mono Lake many times, and under varied conditions, but I can't recall ever seeing the water look like this. This is very unique. You might consider a crop from the top to eliminate some of blue sky on the left. In my opinion.tracts from the unique nature of the water and surrounding landscape.

Congratulations on your retirement! :toast:

I have never been to Mono, and I would not have known that this was a lake if I had not read your comments. I agree with the comments to eliminate the blue sky and it would make it a stronger image I think.

That is a weird shade of green...I thought it was grass in the thumbnail. Totally insane.

This is a very nicely layered image Russ.

And congrats on being retired! Hope to see more of your stuff.
