Hi all,

Another image from our recent trip into the desert interior of Spain. Not a sunrise of wild color, but plenty of texture. The number and ferocity of Mosquitos in this barren landscape was a surprise...

Three exposures, with multiple white balance conversions manually blended in CS5.

Quite a spectacular hill ahead there. The light is very nice too. I like the composition although I can't decide if I'm pro or contra about the little flower at the bottom. While it looks very lovely and adds something to the foreground, it sits there beyond the grass barrier and somehow fights the hill for attention. When covering the lower part with the hand, I find the shot easier on the eye and more harmonic.

A nice mix of textures, great light, and nice subdued color. Very well done.

I like the golden color in the foreground grass and that gorgeous sky and desert monument. Now that Andreas mentioned it, I can see how a crop eliminating the patch of soil and white flowers would make this more compelling but I love the gorgeous light and color throughout. Surprised there have not been more comments.

Beautiful sky. i like your composition. The little flower at the bottom doesn't add too much to the whole scene.......but it doesn't bother me either. I also love the golden color in the foreground

Very nice Alister. Beautiful sky and colors. I really like the golden color / light on the foreground grasses. For me it looks even better cropping the bottom up to the grass above the flowers, so I agree with Andreas with that.

I actually like it best with the suggested crop off the bottom. I like the subdued colors and how the little hill behind is set off by the lighter sky. Very effective image IMO.

Love all the texture in this one....sky, fg, hill are all rich and varied. I think the great light probably adds a ton of interest to the textures. A wonderful image, IMO

I like the context this provides for this place, however, the simplicity of the previous image appealed to me more.
