A splendid conversion, Thomas, beautifully lit, composed and processed. Great detail throughout the image and a nice placement of the bud with the deep shadows above setting it off so well. Look forward to seeing more from you !

Beautiful conversion and image Thomas. A very fine introduction. I suppose that you could crop some from the top and the bottom but it would be purely subjective and is not so much a suggestion as an alternative. Analytically, I think it would put a little more emphasis on the bud.

Welcome to the gallery. I love black and whites and you'd certainly be welcome to post more of these or anything you'd like.

Welcome!
A very captivating image - nice light on the bud and just a few leaves. the others blend nicely into the BG.
Looking forward to more from you!

Thomas:
We don't see too many B&W posts here but personally I like them a lot. The tonal range and details here are fabulous. I agree with Pat's suggestion about cropping the top as there is not much details there and it will certainly put the bud in the power-point. Welcome and look forward to seeing more of your post.

Thank you for all the welcomes and comments.
I was thinking about to cut the upper part of the image but because i display it on a dark background i was not doing this. I think in a print i would also crop a little bit more.

Regards
Thomas
