Cheryl, I believe this is a Skimmer chick. I just love the image.The bum and the head turn are great. We have skimmers in our area but you cannot get anywhere close to the nesting area. I think it is best for the birds though. I would still love the chance to capture the little ones. Since I can't, I can enjoy your image.

super cute, Cheryl. great pose/head turn, nice wave in the bg, and really nice detail and DOF apparent in the larger version. Is this a skimmer? my first thought was plover but that bill looks way too big. really cool shot.

Thanks everyone. Mia yes super close. These guys nest here every year which you may already have seen. You can get amazingly close with not a threat. The biggest threat are the stunods on he beach that don't pay any attention

Neat back looking pose Cheryl and your exposure looks very good. I like the water drop starting to come off the bill and you even got a catch light - no mean feat in chicks of any persuasion. You did get very close.
