White-winged Fairywren

Unfortunately it came close very quickly and I didn't have time to increase the dof before it dived down into cover. Each coloured male usually has six or so brown birds (females and young males)

ISO 400 f8 1/2000 exp comp -2/3 almost full frame

cheers

Beautiful Wren Rob, the setting is very appealing to me. I don't mind the dof as it places the focus on the bird's face & body. Lovely sharpness, detail & light. Techs are wonderful as always.

Well done, Rob, for the time you had. I never have any luck with tiny birds.

Wow, there's a colorful bird! The DOF is just fine by me. The entire body looks to be in good focus, and with the detail there, you don't miss any DOF issue with the tail. :toast:

Rob i have chased these little beauties in that great country of yours and i know how difficult they can be,
This looks super to me recon you would need a lot of dof to get that long tail in,super!!!!

Rob, this is delightful. Amazing little guy, full of bright color, and that perky eye really stands out. Good comp as well.

Amazing color on this little guy Rob. I think you've presented him very well and have no issues with the image. I suspect you couldn't have done much with the sharpness of the tail anyway.

Very nice, Rob. Difficult to ge a head on bird all in focus at close range regardless, and you got everything but he tail.

An amazing bird, well presented. Love the plain background highlighting the intensity of the colors of the bird. Interestingly, I find that white wing the most appealing of all.

I have never seen a bird this color before, really amazing. I bet he really stands out in a crowd. The DOF is fine with also, you still see detail around the head and branches, good reaction to get this, well done.

What a gorgeously coloured bird! I love the composition and detail of this one Rob, and though the background is rather drab, it seems to perfectly compliment the subject. Very well done and thanks for sharing :^)
