Just Golden

Try this again. Took this image last fall when the grasses and leaves were a golden brown and the light enhanced it even more. Firehole Lake is boiling with hot steam on one end and forms a nice reflecting pool on the other end. Great peaceful night right before sunset.

As always thanks for taking a look. Any critique, opinion or anything else you would like to add would be much appreciated.

Wow, This is beautiful. I love the colors, the little bit of fog, or maybe steam, and that wonderful sky. Your 50/50 comp works really nice here. This is a place I would really enjoy being. Nice work Dean.

The colors look nice, the composition leads me through the image. My only nit is that it appears about .5 to 1 stop too dark.

Dean, your composition works very well for me. I especially enjoy the reflection, which in my opinion is wonderfully balanced by the sky. Furthermore I appreciate the natural colors, they let me experience this specific atmosphere.

Brightening the shadows a bit would be an option for me. But that might be purely a matter of opinion, the character of your image is consistent to me with the mood of this evening scene as it is.

I just love the combination of the blues and reddish browns here Dean. The darkness of the trees, etc. doesn't both me a bit. In scrolling down just once, I DO however like it better by taking out the dark cloud near the TLC that goes over toward the middle. A bit more of a pano crop and a minor nit. Lovely mood and colors!

Hi Dean - The subtle light here is just beautiful. I also like the way the clouds frame the scene and the reflection helps add some nice interest. Really nice work, as always.
