Image is another from Florida taken at a WMA en route to Corkscrew Swamp; I don't remember the name of it, but it was very productive for birds with a nice road going through.

50D, 500mm, Iso 200, 1/800, F5 LARGER version also posted. Thanks for looking!

Nice portrait. He gave you a very nice head turn. The shadow of his beak tells me the light was pretty strong but your whites look very good.

Yep. Nice job on exposure and pose. Love that red rimmed eye, also. I could watch these guys run for hours, cool birds.

nice one, Sharon. I like the bird's pose, and really like the oof grasses to either side. the oof grass (I assume) in front of the right edge of the bird is too bad, I wonder if darkening the portions of the breastbands that it's in front of would make it less noticeable?

Real nice shooting angle and the pose is wonderful. You captured some real nice detail in the eye as well as the feathers. I agree on the oof grass to its right. Other than that top notch pic. Well done.

The bird gave you a nice pose and great eye contact Sharon. Lovely low angle and setting. I might consider reducing the midtones slightly which would give a touch more depth to the vegetation. I like the shadow of the bill going across the neck and side of the Killdeer.

Nice low angle and head turn Sharon. Good job in what appears to be quite harsh light

cheers

Nice low POV and a great head-turn Sharon, it's well composed.
I think you managed the bright sunlight very well also.
Sharp details, nice catch-light too :toast:

Nice low angle and good details Sharon! Looks like you had harsh light, but you managed it very well...I think Mia's suggestion on the mid-tones is a good one and would improve this even more.

Interesting, almost coy pose Sharon. I like your comp, low angle and the nice eye contact. I might consider Brian's suggestion.
