Back River Reflection

Across from our dock..... looking towards Edgecomb, ME. Reflection at sunset on Back River at high tide in Boothbay, Maine on a perfectly calm summer's evening. The only thing disturbing the tranquility of the scene was a swarm of ferocious mosquitoes.

Canon 5DM2
Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L at 16mm
ISO100 1.5sec f/16

Thanks for looking and for your comments and critiques which are always appreciated.

I like the reflection you have captured. Also like how you have kept detail in the darker areas of the image. Thanks for shairng.

A grand scene. The reflection is great and I like the subtle colors in the sky and the reflection.

A beautiful image, Eva. Fabulous reflection and wonderful colors. Love the greens in the shadow details.

I like this a lot, Eva. It has almost an abstract quality to it. Wonderful rich light and color in the sky / reflection contrasted with the dark greens in the trees.

I wonder if this would be stronger with the horizon perfectly centered as this image seems to be all about symmetry to me. I might consider a bit of a crop off of the top so as to center the horizon. This also emphasizes the length of the land. Then again, it's very nice as presented so I could also argue in favor of not changing a thing. Just wondering out loud really...

An incredible reflection, Eva. Love the radiating clouds that seem to be rushing toward the viewer from above and below. Really nice with the touch of detail in the trees and shoreline. Had to be a remarkable evening, even with the mosquitos.

An image that immediately evokes calm. I like Brian's suggestion of a top crop to make it completely symmetrical, but it depends on what you want the viewer to focus on more. With this comp my eye tends to go to the sky above and with the scroll crop it tends to go straight to the trees and shore. A lovely and emotion filled shot, Eva! :toast:

Nice and simple! Love the composition. Maybe the sky could be a little bit darker because currently it draws too much attention. Nevertheless it's a lovely shot!

Beautiful. The sky and reflection are wonderful. The detail of the trees in the large version is fantastic.

This is so dreamlike with the perfect reflection and the pastel colors. I'm glad you didn't center the horizon.

A great image with lovely delicious tones in the sky and sea. I saw some comments on wheater or not center the horizon, I think that is a personal taste. If you do it will be an image which is more about symmetry than this one. Personally I like this one.

Eva, beautiful!!! :toast:

I would be inclined to do a graduated luminance adjustment in raw of the sky from the top to about 3/4 down.
