Russia. North of Ladoga Lake. Karelia.

4x5, Velvia 50, Rodenstock Sironar-S 150/5.6

The photo was taken with a very small island that you can get around on foot in 15 minutes. The beginning of the summer 2011.

Thank you for any comments.

This is a dynamic composition, Efim. You have a strong foreground and I like the reflected light on the water. I would recommend that you darken the landscape on the right hand side of the frame a little bit (you don't need to do anything drastic - a little will go a long way). You could do this with a curves adjustment in photoshop in a layer mask and paint the effect in only in that part of the frame.

It would definitely be worth revisiting this location if you could get some clouds at sunrise / sunset. That would add some more color and drama to this composition.

Excellent composition and framing of this scene.

Comp is really nice as it directs my eyes into the scene. I could see burning down the sunlit element right/center. Making it more closely matching the sunlit rock tip would give it a great presence in the frame. Right now it feels a bit over-exposed.

I like the way the blue of the water leads into the blue of the sky. Your composition is very nicely balanced and appealling. The arm on the right is, as mentioned by all, a bit too bright but the rest of the image has a very serene mood that I really like.
