Thanks for all the comments on my last image.
Shot this Avalanche Lily this morning just below the snowline in MRNP. I'm seeing a little noise but considering the settings not too bad. It was a little breezy and I had a CP on. Thanks for looking.

SuperSigma 150 Macro
f/3.3 @ 1/160 sec
ISO 800

edit:Maybe a slight halo at the bottom edge of the bud? I didn't notice it before posting.

Beautiful photo of the Avalanche Lily Bud, Bruce. There is indeed a small halo but its OK for web presentations - if you had not mentioned, I'd not have noticed it at all.

I love that blue patch in the background which moves in the direction of the Lily Bud and the graceful curve the stem is forming there. :toast:

Beautifully done Bruce. Elegant composition and fine supporting bg. I don't see enough noise to be a problem for me at all.

Beautiful image, Bruce ! The lighting and variegated bg make this for me, and the flower is beautifully sharp with lovely touches of translucency at the petal tips. I think the dof is just right ( though I wondered initially about the whole stem being sharp ). I can't myself see any noise problem btw.

Elegant in a word. The lighting and position of the bloom looks like a desk lamp casting a soft light.

Almost looks like a studio shot so that's pretty awesome me thinks. Not really noticing the halo...could be a light thing. Very elegant shot.

Sweet simplicity. I don't see anything I would change, and the noise is not objectionable.

Graceful lines, and the lily seems to make its own light. NIce work, Bruce.

Bruce:
Love the simplicity and the curving stem leading to the bud. Noise is a non issue. Elegant.

Very lovely, simple, clean comp and wonderful colors. I do wish the stem was a bit more in focus throughout its length.

Bruce: That halo is a fatal flaw so to spare you the agony of having it ruin your day why not just send me the RAW file and all rights and I know you'll feel better   What a great find and a superb capture. I'm still not sure I see the halo and if you had not mentioned it I would not even have looked. This is a fine shot. >=))>
