Looks like a Waterlily week on NPN with a few shots posted in the last couple of days. Made at the Chicago Botanical Gardens yesterday

. I make a couple of trips there to shoot flowers I don't get to shoot locally.

ND200, 200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/16, 1/80 Secs, Diffuser, ISO200 and Tripod. Two legs of the tripod dipped into the tank almost two feet and one leg on the tank steps. Tripod was leaking water in the boot of the car until I reached home. Hopefully it won't cause any problems down the road.

I really like the colours and the tridimensionality of this one. Also the central composition warks very well.

Oh man Ram. This is the best waterlily image todate IMHO. Love it. I only have two concerns:
1. You didn't post a larger version to feast my eyes upon.
2. I haven't received my 20x30 image of it yet!

Outstanding image. It was worth the drive to Chicago for this one. Don't worry about the tripod. Royalties from the image will pay for it 100x over.

Exceptional image Ram. Superb light, color and composition. I really don't think floral photography gets any better than this.

Ram: Off the scale perfect comp and capture of this perfect flower. Makes me want to go shoot some of these at our local arboretum if the drought hasn't dried up even that. Superb shot.>=))>

The dof is so deep here that I was expecting a stack. The colors and contrast are amazing. Those stamen seem to be bursting out of the picture. If your tripod is metal you need to dismantle it and clean it quickly. I did that yesterday with my carbon fiber tripod after it spent a couple of hours in the pond shooting a water lily (unsuccessfully).
