Sunflower Ridge

It would be nice to have some big beautiful mountains in the background but I hope the storm provides the drama for this shot. The most difficult part is getting the flowers to hold still. The most dangerous part is getting struck by lightening. We've been treated to some of the greatest wildflower shows this year. Thank you Lord!

As always thanks for taking a look. Any critique, opinion or anything else you would like to add would be much appreciated.

Beautiful field of sunflowers, Dean! The composition works well, the sky adds mood and you included just the right amount. Nicely done!

This is a very beautifully crafted image, Dean. The drama in the sky compliments the colorful field of wildflowers perfectly.

Your patience paid off. Lovely, Dean. I like the sprinkling of the color
from other flowers in this image. The bluish sky complements the
yellow flowers.

The Very dramatic sky sets the bright yellows of the FG flowers off perfectly.
Perfect DOF and nice cooperation from the lack of breeze!

Great use of foreground draws me into the frame. The yellow helps with this too.
Well captured image Dean

Stunning foreground and spectacular landscape. Congrats!

Minor nit: The sky seems to be a tad too dark and blue which gives it a "digital processed look".

A lovely bright flower image, Dean. Love the color combo of yellow and blue. Great sky. Good job getting all the flowers to hold still for 1/13sec  I also like the repeating shape of the right fg flower stems and bg trees.

Great combination of rich blue sky versus the yellow flowers and a dynamic composition.

Very nice Dean. Wonderful field of flowers that look great and I like the extra bit of drama the sky adds. Nice work! A very enjoyable scene.

Wonderful image Dean, really like the blue/yellow contrast. No wind.. it must have been the calm before the storm. You nailed it on the repost. Congrats! :toast:

i don't mind the blue in the original, I like opposing colors though. I do find the evergreens a touch muddy. Love the comp and drama.

Dean - this is just beautiful, even without a stunning peak. I really like the composition and the flowers are just wonderful. Feels like a summer afternoon for sure.

The clouds work quite nicely for the background and maybe allows for better emphasis on the gorgeous flowers. Excellent light, as usual.

Paul, not sure what you mean by muddy in the trees so I lightened them up a bit so things look a bit more even in exposure. Hope that does the trick.

Thanks all for your comments.

The color here is off the charts spectacular. Great drama above to match the yellow flowers. I still can see some mountains in the distance, so you got that, too. :toast:

Last one looks better. I meant they looked flat, no contrast or tonal definition. It wasn't so much light or dark, cause some true blacks mixed him might actually help.

Excellent even without the mountains. The clouds are a perfect compliment.

The second repost is great, Dean. The lighter sky and trees have lifted the image and created a lighter mood that enhances the beauty of the flower scene very well. Beautiful shot.
