John:
Looks like water lily week - a lot of great water lily posts this week.

The exposure of the white look spot on and the reflection is nice. The curvilinear lines (?roots) in the reflection makes this very interesting. Good call to include the pads in the bg.

Beautiful, John! I like the simplicity of the comp for this and how the lily pads, flower, and reflection are not distracted by any other elements. The flower by its beautiful lighting and clarity demands your attention. Whites look really good. Great capture for being on a kayak and hand held!

Very cool with the reflection and spider like twisting roots shown.

John,

It's the reflection here that makes the image for me. I'd leave some of the pad at the top but probably crop down more, maybe to square. Very well seen and presented.

Pat's comments are exactly my thoughts on your image. Beautiful reflection. I'd crop a little off the top to concentrate more on the focus and the reflection. Very nice image regardless of the comp though.

John: Exceptional water lily shot IMO. Cropping this from the top to 5:4 ration does make it stronger but it doesn't need much. Well done.>=))>
