Iris in a Higher Key

Another in my series of playing with blending higher-key images ala technique by Howard Davis. I found this one the most difficult. The blues for some reason are really tricky. Very easy to get blotchy colours. Hope this works for at least one of you.

Canon 5D MkII 90mm T/S. Blend of 3 images

All comments most appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to look and comment.

Bob: This is a striking rendition, especially in the larger version. Marvelous color palette and the high key works great for me. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

One more suggestion. There are some extra "blues" around the flower in some places I would create completely white BG. Just an idea.

Love the glow and colors. If I could slice a priceless jewel or gemstone...then hold it up to the sun...this is what I would see. Esp like the center darker portions...adds a 3rd dimension.

Excellent. The yellow beards are just right with all the blues.

I like your treatment. There's an amazing amount of detail in the limited color palette.

Bob:
Very striking image. I think you have truly mastered HD high key images with good preservation of saturation. :toast:

There are small blue areas around the 4 and 6 o'clock petals that can be easily removed. Also I might suggest burn down a little the white bg areas on either side of the 9 o'clock yellow. It would also be nice to have a thin frame... these a just very minor nits. The image as presented really sings.
