Canyon in the Clouds

This comes from the canyon of Red Creek in the Dolly Sods wilderness in West Virginia. As dawn approaches the night clouds are flowing up out of the gorge and billowing high above the ridge-crests.

Cool image with some spectacular clouds. Not quite sure if I like the foreground in the left corner or not.

Nice drama! Seems a bit too cyan for my tastes. Have you thought about a black and white version of this? :toast:

The clouds are have a lot of drama. I think I would crop the image about half way up the rock in the foreground to put more focus on the sky.

Very interesting cloud forms. The textures are nice. My only thought is maybe to play with the white balance a bit. The rock feels a bit too cool in color.

Very cool shot Robert. The clouds are fantastic! It does seem just a bit cool so maybe Tony's thought about playing with the white balance might be interesting. I like the looks of this area and would love to make it down that way.

Thanks for posting to one of my images as I missed this earlier, Robert. Long time no see and glad to see you posting again. West Virginia along with Tennessee are the most underrated mountain areas of the US. This is awfully nice.
